Your home cleaned the way you want it.

With a WGE cleaner, you have complete control over the products used in your home. If you’re at a loss for what you need, below is a list of bare necessities with a green option.

Bare Necessities

Vacuum, Broom, and/or Swiffer with cloths
Mop and Bucket (or a Garbage Can can that can subtitute)
Toilet Brush and Toilet Bowl Cleaner
Liquid Cleaner (i.e. Lysol, Mr. Clean, Pine-Sol) for bathroom and kitchen
Murphy’s Oil Soap, Bona or Dish Detergent (all can be used on wood floors, Dish Detergent on marble floors)
Windex
Soft Scrub (for sinks and tubs)
Tilex (ONLY if there is mold/mildew in bathroom)
Swiffer Duster or Dust Cloth/Standard Duster (multiple)
Paper towels (multiple)
Rags or sponges

While nothing whitens like bleach and nothing scours like soft scrub, frequent cleanings can eliminate the need for such harsh chemicals. Supply you favorite all natural products or go extreme green and use the following homemade replacements:

White Vinegar & Water Solution: replaces windex and multi-surface cleaners.
Baking Soda: replaces soft scrub, for scouring sinks and tubs (have plenty on hand as it should be used liberally)
Hydrogen Peroxide: replaces tilex, mix with 2 parts water and spray on shower mold. Let sit for at least 1 hour before rinsing.
All-Natural Dish Detergent: replaces liquid detergent, for use on all floors (including wood and marble) and anywhere you would use a liquid cleaner.
Vegetable Oil: replaces furniture polish. If you don’t mind a little residue, apply a small amount to a soft cloth or paper towel for use as a furniture polish.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.

Our cleaners are generally able to reach you as long as your home is accessible by public transportation.

How do I schedule a cleaning?

We have made scheduling easy for you by providing a short form on our Appointments page. When you fill out the form, your request is sent to us.

We may contact you for further information prior to your appointment. We will contact you the day before your appointment to confirm who we are sending.

What is the difference between ‘cleaning’ and ‘housekeeping?’

‘Cleaning’ indicates a one-time appointment.

‘Housekeeping’ refers to long-standing recurring appointments.

How can I sign up for recurring service?

When filling out the online appointment form, select ‘Weekly Housekeeping,’ ‘Bi-weekly Housekeeping,’ or ‘Daily Housekeeping.’

You can also let us know that you are interested in regular service by sending us an email or calling us directly.

What is the easiest way to contact you?

Can I make a same-day appointment?

We do our best to accommodate requests for same-day service. The more notice you can give us when scheduling an appointment, the better the chance you have of successfully booking a cleaner.

What if I need to change or cancel my appointment?

The best way to makes changes to your appointment is to call us directly at the office at (212) 684-4460 before 4:00 p.m.the day before your appointment.

There is a cancellation fee for appointments that are cancelled after 4:00 p.m. the day before the appointment is scheduled.

Do you clean on the weekends?

Cleaners are available seven days a week, including Saturday and Sunday.

Do I need to be home for my appointment?

We do not require you to be home during your appointment. We do ask that if you are not home, instructions are given on how to access your home (e.g. an access code, a key left with a doorman).

How long will it take to clean my home?

Every home is different, and it is difficult to quote an exact amount of time the appointment will takewithout seeing your home firsthand. We are not able to give in-home estimates prior to scheduling an appointment.

When your cleaner arrives, they will be better equipped to give an estimate based on the size of your home, and the state that your home is in.

What is included in a cleaning?

Our cleaners are thorough, cleaning the entirety of homes including the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and living rooms.

If you have specific tasks or target areas that you would like the cleaner to address, please specify that when making the appointment.

Will your cleaners do my laundry?

Our cleaners will take care of your laundry as long as the washing machine and dryer are either in your home or in the building.

It is important to note that laundry always adds time to an appointment. If you would like laundry done, plan for at least an extra hour.

Are your cleaners pet-friendly?

We have many cleaners who love animals and work really well with them. Let us know about your pets when scheduling an appointment.

Are your cleaners experienced?

All of our referred cleaners are experienced in cleaning. We carefully screen all professionals prior to referring them to our customers. We maintain specific ratings of each referred cleaner based on their history of customer satisfaction and we use that information to recommend the best cleaner suited to the specific needs of each customer.

How do I pay/tip my cleaner?

Our cleaners can be paid in cash or by a check made out to their name. They do not accept credit cards. You are not required to tip your cleaner, but tips can be given at your discretion.

We pride ourselves on being able to provide top-notch cleaners who are happy with no tip. That said, we cannot control the reality that our service is offered to all New Yorkers of all demographics, so some people will often choose to be generous and top-notch cleaners will often gravitate and give preferential treatment (such as priority on schedule changes) to those clients who are most generous.

Who provides the cleaning supplies?

Our cleaners will use whatever products and equipment are approved by you and available in your home. They do not travel with supplies or equipment.

Do you do post-construction or post-renovation cleaning?

We have many cleaners who are experienced in both post-construction and post-renovation cleaning. We are happy to set you up with a cleaner or a team of cleaners who can help clean your home after home improvement projects have been completed.

Do you clean commercial buildings?

Our cleaners are willing and able to help maintain your commercial space with cleanings as often as you’d like.

Are your cleaners bonded and insured?

Our referred cleaners are bonded but not insured. Most homeowners and renters policies cover damages made by workers in the home and we choose not to have clients pay twice for insurance. We do offer up to $5,000 as a courtesy for any client who believes they have suffered a loss as a result of our referral.
